Any interest in a members only section?

This is kind of a weird question, but I just wanted to throw the idea out there and see what people thought.
Would there be any interest in a section of the forum that is only viewable by logged-in members? The reason I'm asking is because I can see how some people might not be comfortable posting personal/private info like names of family members in threads like "For whom were you named" or personal history stuff in "Would you" when they're viewable by the public and indexed in the search engines.
On the one hand, I like the idea of the forum being open and welcoming and not closed and cliquish, but I also understand a desire for a more private members' section since we also talk about family stuff or post pictures, and might not want that stuff out there for the world to see.
I don't really have a preference, but thought it was worth bringing up.

If you don't want Golfhos to "appear" cliquish, then create the section, but don't link to it from anywhere. It will be like a "double secret" section that you can only access if you happen to know the URL (which you'd PM to all of us except for the clinically paranoid stroh). Of course, you'd PM the URL to me too, right? Right? Right?

Mainly, we'd just start threads where we'd speak of how our forum is the best evar. That would have to be in the charter. Violators to be shot at dawn. It's been done before.  I think it's a good idea actually especially with Gleek's adjustment. I thought about it last night when I was posting my life history but couldn't stop myself. I was in a sharing mood. |
